Even in the city, the variation in a single species of rattlesnake can be incredible. Here’s a typical look for speckled rattlesnakes in North and Central Phoenix:
… and the next mountain to the South, still well within Phoenix city limits, are entirely different. I’ve posted a lot of these in the past; it’s always incredible to see them side by side.
